To teach is to give someone apart of your knowledge.
We offer our talents to others in the community by teaching them how to create for themselves.
Classes are offered periodically throughout the year on various topics. Most recently our classes consisted of basic sewing instructions. We also offer private sewing instruction and in home curtain making.
To create is to evolve from one's own imagination.
We create new designs by working with vintage and other unwanted fabrics and making a new everyday item. Our creations utilize items that are currently something else. Taking the beauty of the fabric and reworking it into something that can be useful again.
Purdy is a concept created by Christina and Joy. They wanted to create a company that utlized upcyling. The concept was originally to create bags and purses that were made from clothing but has expanded to aprons and even custom window treatments, as well as conducting local sewing workshops for fellow creative folks. They both love to work with the customer to create an item that will be special and unique. Recently, the duo designed aprons for the staff at Behle Street Cafe in Covington, Kentucky. Stop by any local street fair and you may see the girls selling their designs. Checkout their blog for upcoming events.
Joy: My two passions in life are singing and dogs, so most of my free time is spent going to dog training classes and doing musical theatre in Cincinnati.
Christina: When I'm not a home-body (which is my favorite thing to do), I play soccer on an indoor and outdoor co-ed league. I like to go to yoga classes. I walk 10 miles every Sunday. I love home-cooked meals and dinners with family. I love taking naps.
